Brutair’s home page in light mode: the name in heavy type beside a full-height photograph, the navigation as a row of equal cells. The same home page in dark mode. Two cells of the home page, light and dark mode support and more than forty components, each beside an architectural photograph. Three quotes in hairline cells under a moving Social Proof ticker, in dark mode. A features list with the active item in a black cell, beside an architectural photograph, above the pricing table. The works page: a heading cell beside a photograph of a red sculpture, then a ticker of featured works. A project page: the title and summary above a large product photograph. The about page: A Place for Humans beside an office photograph, then the values in a row of cells. The blog page: a heading cell beside a photograph of a drone, then the articles in three columns. The work

Brutair is a website template I designed and built in Framer, and it is for sale on the Framer Marketplace. The idea is in the name: brutalism and minimalism at once. Every piece of content sits in its own cell behind a hairline, the navigation is a row of equal cells, the headings are heavy and tight, and photographs fill their cells to the edge. It comes in light and dark, and it follows the visitor’s own system setting.

It is a whole working site, not a page of sections: a home page, works with a page for every project, a blog and an about page, all running on Framer’s CMS, with forms, tickers, sticky scrolling and appear effects, made from more than forty components. I kept working on it after launch. In the seven months that followed it gained text animations, a fix for screens wider than 2,000 pixels, a second collection for projects with its own works page and project pages, video on project pages, and a layout template.

Framer lists me as one of its Experts. The hairline cells on this site come from Brutair.
